2024 Friends of ACT Campaign

Help us meet our fundraising goal to expand our impact!

In the past 5 years, we’ve established ourselves as one of most diverse coalitions of community voices in Anne Arundel County, with a track record of making change.

This past year, we:

• Established Turnaround Thursday, a second-chance jobs movement for returning citizens, which has helped over 47 people find quality jobs.
• Advanced inclusionary zoning legislation for affordable housing in the County, including hosting a 425-person action with our councilmembers.
• Held listening sessions with over 1,200 community members.
• Created 4 issue action teams to organize campaigns around affordable housing, mental health, education, and gun violence.

In our listening sessions, we’ve gained a wide perspective of the opportunities we have to make change in Anne Arundel County.

We have opportunities to:

• Deepen our work with people who are on their journey of a second chance.
• Fight for mental health resources for youth.
• Create attainable housing options that will create generational change in our county. 
• Live more fully into our vision of equity by recruiting more diverse member organizations.

In order to take advantage of all these opportunities, we need additional capacity and we’d like to hire a second organizer.
